Door knobs
It is one of the little things around the house that we take for granted in our day to day lives. It usually enables us to open our windows, doors, cupboards etc. normally most houses have door knobs that use a simple screw-style axle also called a spindle with one flat side passing through the door latch leaving a length exposed to attach the knob. The knobs are fixed on both the sides by screwing them onto the axle and then securing the retaining screws. The location of the knob may vary but it usually is a few centimeters away from the edge of the door. Some places also have door knobs placed right in the middle of the door.
The door knobs can be of various types. There can be entrance door knobs used for outside doors. There can be privacy based doorknobs which can be locked so as to give privacy to the user. There can be back passage knobs which cannot be locked. And there can also be Dummy knobs which are there just to give the look of a knob but do no actual function. They can be made from various metals and in some cases even from wood. Their structure, size and shape depend on the choice of the person using it and the convenience and aesthetic enhancement they provide.
